I never would have pictured myself as
a teacher in a rural school setting when I was growing up. I was born in Norwalk, Connecticut and raised in Naperville,
Illinois ( a suburb of Chicago). After graduating from high school, I attended the University of Iowa (GOHAWKS!), and then finished my schooling at the University of Northern Iowa. I graduated
with a degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. Upon graduation I taught Title 1 Reading
at Wapsie Valley, Readlyn Elementary. I am currently in my twelfth year of teaching First Grade at Dunkerton
Elementary.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and children. We have four boys ages 17,12,5,
and 4. I am expecting our fifth child in September, a girl! I am involved in the Waterloo/ Cedar Falls community and
actively take part in the many activities in which my children participate. I am the board secretary for the Waterloo
Youth Hockey Association and also serve as a high school representative on the board. Also, I am an avid golfer,
and look for as many opportunities as posssible to work in a round of golf in my busy schedule! Please stop by and introduce yourself!
I look forward to meeting you!
